1st ICT Panel, Badajoz, 08/06/2007

The first panel on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) was held on June the 8th in Badajoz, where twenty-six regional experts attended the meeting with the aim of defining visions for the future that could mark the development goal that is set to be achieved for the sector in the 10-15 years to come.

The experts who took part in this first panel on ICT were representatives from:

Federation of ICT companies’ Associations
The “Cluster del Conocimiento”, which is a Regional Cluster on ICT
Companies as BME, Pulso Sistemas de Gestión, Idom, Telefónica and Abertis Telecom
Research and Technology Centres, as CENATIC and CETA-CIEMAT
Extremadura University
Regional Ministry on Infrastructure and Technological Development
The “Gabinete de Iniciativa Joven”, a centre created to promote the imagination, creativity and innovation applied to new projects
The “Centro de Nuevas Iniciativas”, a centre to develop and implement GnuLinEx, the distribution of Free Open Source Software developed in Extremadura
Vivernet, a centre to promote the creation of technology-based companies in the region
Regional Ministry on Infrastructure and Technological Development

2nd ICT Panel, Badajoz, 17/07/2007

In the second ICT panel meeting, held on the 17th July, participants focused on both the identification of the critical factors to reach these visions for the future and the actions needed for each factor. Moreover, the actors that should be involved in the development of the selected actions and their roles in accelerating their implementation strategies were identified.

Participants to this meeting were the same attendants to meeting one of the ICT sector.
